The main purpose is to identify the\u00a0 four main moves in writing business complaint letter. The\u00a0 random convenient sampling method was employed. The\u00a0 number of participants was 35 in an EFL classroom at the\u00a0 private educational institute. For the method of data collection,\u00a0 the quantitative analysis was used as the main method to collect\u00a0 the data both in student\u2019s pieces of writing and their perception\u00a0 toward this Genre model. The Descriptive frequency applied to\u00a0 show the tendency of students\u2019 perception. The findings\u00a0 included the learner\u2019s perception, language structures, writing\u00a0 style and vocabulary used in the student\u2019s writings. It can be\u00a0 concluded that the learners were aware of the politeness in\u00a0 writing letters. Nevertheless, most of the students\u2019 writing style\u00a0 were at the moderate level of politeness and relatively straight\u00a0 forward way of writing. For the learner\u2019s perception, more than\u00a0 80% of the learners had positive attitude.
